Each of these stations had its own distinct personality, sparking endless inspiration for graphic concepts and installations. Schöneberg, for instance, instantly reminded us of an abandoned swimming pool. Its turquoise tiles became the perfect canvas for our idea to create a playful pixel art underwater world. Cheerful sea creatures and water athletes meet wayfinding elements here—designed specifically for this station and hand-painted directly onto the tiles. Lichtenberg, with its rather gray architecture, was in need of a fresh, vibrant touch. A plant concept, green foils for soft light effects, and moss installations transformed the space into a far more inviting environment.
At Westkreuz station, we tackled the challenge of identical entryways with a bold color and illustration concept with iconic visualizations. The striking architecture of Westhafen station provided the perfect canvas for a large-scale, dynamic graphic design. This concept abstractly captures the movement and industrial character of the location, transforming it into a visually impactful form.
Our work at these stations proved how much character and life can be infused into seemingly functional spaces when you dare to think differently.
